In case of work injury or occupational disease, the insured person may be entitled to a compensation due to physical impairment (physical impairment benefit).
Physical impairment includes loss, significant impairment or significant disability of an individual organ or body parts, which impedes normal activity of the body and requires greater effort in performing life needs, regardless of whether the impairment does or does not cause a reduction or loss of working capacity of the insured person.
Physical impairments and degrees of physical impairment are expressed in percentages of 30 – 100% and are defined by the list of physical impairments provided by the law.
Physical impairment benefit is determined depending on the percentage of physical impairment in the appropriate percentage of the basis (the basis for determining the compensation is established by the Institute’s general act and the Decision on the basis for determining the physical impairment benefit and adjusting the financial compensation for physical impairment), namely:

The physical impairment benefit is adjusted in the same manner as pensions.
As of 1 July 2024, the basis for determining financial compensation for bodily injury caused by an injury at work, or an occupational disease, amounts to 301,92 EUR.
